EPISODE 18 (SIGN OF THE END / LIFE AFTER GOD)

---SPOILER AHEAD---

Mosk dome is still intact and fine before Raul’s missiles. Monad used her power to protect the dome from Donov Mayer’s missiles.

Mosk dome is still intact and fine before Raul’s missiles. Monad used her power to protect the dome from Donov Mayer’s missiles.

Raul’s missiles rain on Mosk. Proxy One who arrives there before Vincent’s group is hit by the missiles. He waves his hands to protect himself. He holds his proxy pendants and cries. He let the dome destroyed because he does not want it to be used by original human later. He cries because Monad’s creation is annihilated or feeling betrayed by his own creation.

The trio finally arrives at Mosk edge. They almost fall on one of the huge missile craters. Re-l thinks that Mosk was destroyed from Donov attack. Re-l knows the ugly history, but she does not tell Vincent. This suggests that the information is kept secret, only Romdeau elites knows this. Other citizens and Mosk immigrants have no idea. Vincent thinks Mosk is destroyed by the recent missiles to erase his past.

The trio walks around to find anything related to Vincent. Re-l is not asphyxiated by the nuclear radiation because of her Amrita mimetic cells. On the other hand, Vincent feels anxious and dizzy. This is a sign that proxy One is nearby. He reacted the same way when Senex and cave proxy were near him. Re-l sends Vincent to go back to the Rabbit so he can rest.

Vincent goes back to the Rabbit and sleeps there. Re-l and Pino check the most resistant building. The building is protected by strongholds that make it survives Raul’s missiles. They enter Monad’s throne room. By the look of the room and gunshot marks, Re-l accurately imagines Monad was seized in her throne room by Romdeau army (or probably dejavu from her connection to Monad). The room was used by Monad to control and manage Mosk. Re-l turns on the control room. Pino records all data shown.

Re-l sits on Mosk proxy throne, the throne that once belonged to her other self

Proxy One finds Ergo/Vincent memory chamber. Amnesia, the memory guardian autoreiv thinks he is Vincent because he beats the same pulse as Vincent. One looks around in silence. He breaks Amnesia and cries. He is sad to destroy Vincent/Ergo memory, his own memory. But he has to destroy it to prevent Ergo/Vincent running away again.

Re-l and Pino traces an operational power plant below Mosk. They pick up Vincent to look at it. They arrive at the memory chamber. Vincent opens the chamber using Monad’s pendant. They finds the broken Amnesia murmuring that which is divided must become one and Romdeau. Vincent takes proxy One’s necklace from Amnesia’s neck. Re-l gasps seeing the sign awakening, the same sign on her old bathroom. The sign and necklace are left there by One to lure them to go back to Romdeau.

The Collective lectures Raul for his error launching the missile. Raul argues back that the Regent did the same reckless error. If Donov did not attack Mosk the do not need to accept Mosk immigrants. He thinks that the Romdeau crisis is started by Vincent, the immigrant.

Raul reproaches the Regent to name a mass murder weapon Rapture and keep it fully on. Raul understands that the Regent used the missile to get his God, Ergo/Vincent, back. But Raul does not need a God who left them to extinction.

The Regent knows that Romdeau is near its downfall without a proxy. He lets the city slowly crumbles. On the contrast, Raul wants Romdeau to be independent without God (proxy). He believes that if Romdeau keeps fighting, they will not extinct. The Regent gives up. He lets Raul fight for Romdeau. Raul receives his position back.

Raul orders Daedalus to conduct a research to change pseudo human body at the cellular level. Daedalus agrees to it. Outside Daedalus’ office, Raul meets a little girl who looks so similar to Re-l. Daedalus calls her Real Mayer. Raul is disgusted. He thinks Daedalus starts to lose his mind, therefore Daedalus decides to clone Re-l. Daedalus is grooming Real. He is possessive hence he dictates her not to smile to another man.

Details and Easter Eggs:

  • Real is not the little girl in Re-l’s dream in the earlier episode.

  • That which is divided must become one refers to Vincent and proxy One. They are a whole split into two.

  • Amnesia states that Vincent erased his memory to keep his sanity. If Vincent did not erase his memory, he will fall into madness like proxy One.

  • Proxy pendant plays important symbolism in Vincent’s choices. Monad gave her pendant in the memory erasure event as a symbolism that Vincent chooses Monad’s solution: to forget he is a proxy and live as a human. One leaves his pendant in the chamber to symbolize another option for Vincent: to face the original human.

  • Re-l is a partial clone of Monad thus she is lost an alphabet (minus A for Amrita). Real is named as such because she is the full clone of Monad. That is why Daedalus calls Real as the real one.

  • Both Raul and the Regent are right and wrong at the same time. The Regent is right to keep pursuing the proxy because pseudo human cannot reproduce without a proxy. He is wrong because it is the awakening time, the proxy doomsday. Raul is right that Romdeau cannot rely on proxy forever. But he is wrong because no matter what they do, they cannot change the nature of pseudo human.

  • The Regent lets Raul do what he wants because he is stuck. He knows there is nothing he can do anymore to keep Romdeau alive. He wants Raul to feel his despair.

  1. Is it true that Mosk's Dome was intact before Raul's missiles? After all where did the immigrants come from then?
